Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump met with British Prime Minister Theresa May on Tuesday morning (May 4), the second day of their three-day state visit to England.
The President of the United States and the First Lady arrived by 10 Downing street for a joint meeting, and were also joined by Theresa‘s husband Philip May.
At the top of their between American and British business leaders at London’s St. James Palace, Trump told May he has “very much” enjoyed their working relationship during her tenure. May is due to step aside on Friday from Conservative Party leadership, but will remain prime minister until her successor is elected.
“I don’t exactly know what your timing is, but stick around. Let’s do this deal,” Trump told his British counterpart, referring to their planned discussions about a trade agreement between both countries.
President Trump‘s three-day state visit began with lunch with the Queen, followed by a State Banquet at Buckingham Palace, whilst today he will also attend a business meetings with the Duke of York, before traveling to Portsmouth to mark the 75th anniversary of the D-Day landings.
