Gwyneth Paltrow: 'Conversation' Launch with Amanda de Cadenet!

Gwyneth Paltrow rubs shoulders with Amanda de Cadenet at The Conversation Launch Celebration held at DVF Studio on Sunday (May 6) in New York City.

The 39-year-old actress helped her friend celebrate the launch of her new Lifetime interview series.

FYI: Amanda is wearing Jennifer Meyer earrings.

@coolio: She has hair like straw.

I think she looks lovely.

None of them look great but Gwyneth could use a new makeup artist. Her skin looks terrible.

gwen is never with her hubby in public……………..i wonder why…………….coldpay’s tribute to MCA was attended by loads of stars and other actors but not his wife………… very strange

The show is stunning,
I really think we will get to learn a lot on self developement.
Cant wait to have some more !

I think some of the comments on here regarding what these women look like and the relentless focus on body image/hairstyle/whatever is inadvertently horrendously ironic and just goes to show how vital outlets like ‘The Conversation’ are. People need to re-assess the way they value women, i.e. not base their entire judgement on what they look like and instead admire their ability and achievements. These women are beautiful of course but it’s irrelevant. What’s relevant is what else they offer to the world

I think focusing on her looks has let Paltrow off easy you consider how ignorant she has behaved over the years and what more could be said. She’s made stereotypical generalization after generalization in her interviews. She also plays into the focus on appearance herself by hitting the red carpet with plunging necklines , spiked heels and extremely short dresses. She even hired a stylist to craft this physical image for her so she’s as much fixated on her appearance as the new outlets and blogs that cover her.

And no, she’s not a beautiful woman, inside or out.

Gwynnie’s trying to show off her boobies again.

@Emma: I find this criticism ironic given how relentlessly Gwyneth focuses on body image in her weekly Goop newsletter through exercise and cleanse recommendations and beauty/fashion tips and even markets this info. to make a profit. Her career trajectory has become rather stunted too. She seems more focused on promoting and developing herself as some sort of advice guru while her acting peers at the time of her Oscar win have gone onto more diverse and imaginative projects.

Zzzzzz…. Women who attacks other women, about their looks. When will we ever learn?

ugly chick

I think GP is suffering from an early midlife crisis hence the need to try and show off and prove she still has it with the teenage hemlines and revealing necklines. Her appearance is pretty startling considering she has access to some of the top make up artists in the world.

@Eon: So…by HAVING an appearance or making an effort with it, that means she wants that to be her absolute defining feature? It just so happens that these kind of judgements are made against women all the time- Appearance over ability is prized constantly. Women are taught from childhood that their appearance is their most valuable asset, and society confirms that constantly. If the comments made were regarding Gwyneth being there, or being seen as an inspiring figure, because of her supposed “ignorant comments in interviews”, or the comments were questioning her position as a woman to aspire to be, then that’s fair enough because that would actually be relevant. But to focus on her physicality solely is just total idiocy and something men and women really need to question themselves for doing constantly without even noticing

@Emma: You’re a on a celebrity blog. Conversations about appearance are the norm.

GP isn’t just making an effort with her appearance. She’s trying to show off with the exaggeratedly short hemlines and necklines. She admits she works out 1-2 hours a day, 5-6 days a week. That’s a huge amount of effort to be putting into one’s appearance. Not to mention that she constantly wears and advertises clothes from major designers on her website, attends events and accepts advertising contracts which focus on her appearance.

She is very much caught up in getting attention and validation from her physicality and makes a pretty penny off this process. So to expect people, especially on a gossip blog, not to comment on it is just unrealistic.

YUCK….CAN’T BELIEVE THIS PLAIN JANE IS BLYTHE DANNER’S DAUGHTER.

SHE SHOULD GET HER BEAUTIFUL MOM TO GIVE HER A MAKEOVER.
