Lana Del Rey to 'Rolling Stone': 'I Feel F-cking Crazy, People Make Me Feel Crazy'

Lana Del Rey cuddles with a cute cat on her first ever Rolling Stone magazine cover, on newsstands Friday.

Here’s what the 28-year-old entertainer had to share with the mag:

On her state of mind: “Well, I feel fucking crazy. But I don’t think I am. People make me feel crazy. I find that most people I meet figure I kind of want to kill myself anyway. So, it comes up every time.”

On how she wants people to hear her lyrics: “I just don’t want them to hear it at all. I’m very selfish. I make everything for me, kind of. I mean, every little thing, down to the guitar and the drums. It’s just for me… I don’t want them to hear it and think about it. It’s none of their business!”

On her infamous SNL performance: “It wasn’t dynamic, but it was true to form. Everyone I knew suddenly wasn’t so sure about me. They were like, ‘Maybe I don’t want to be associated with her – not a great reputation.’”

Yep, she comes off as a spoiled, delusional, rich girl. Her attitude sucks! Music is not supposed to be a selfish thing, it’s for sharing with others and Lana’s obsession with death is unhealthy.

  • Matt

Her music and talent is what matters. She’s brilliant, that voice. She does it her way and it’s refreshing, unlike most of the garbage on the radio.

  • sx

I like her but what’s up with that second quote? I don’t get it. You chose to make music for the masses.

    Overrated, so damm overrated

  • olive

Hmm…she’s the one putting that sad girl image so who’s to blame. Yet I don’t get the obsession. I like her first album though.

  • seriously

@Matt: you might think her voice is “brilliant” but her voice is not expressive as much as she wants to make it out to be with her depressing hipster songs. anybody can do lanas voice if they prolonged the way they spoke in a soft, deep tone, its really not that hard or special but the hipsters think shes a pioneer which makes me laugh my a$$ off. and lana has never been known for having good live performances, especially with her always smoking a cigarette during her shows so im sure they use a good amount of autotune on her to sound clearer and concise.

and can these illuminati controlled magazines stop making their celebrities do the one eye picture, its so boring and predictable. we already get that you sold your soul to the industry, no need to glamorize it when im pretty sure theres something that celebs know that we dont that is very shady and bad about the entertainment industry when it comes to signing your rights away. that along with the 666 “ok” sign over your eye is getting overused to death, can’t the satanists be any more original? lol

More proof that a once great Rolling Stone has long fallen completely off a cliff.

    Del Rey is a joke.

  • liz

@Matt: oh please. her music is garbage too. all her lyrics sound like this :you’re fresh to death, you’re my bad baby, you’re so dope, love you forever” all crap, nonsense lyrics. and don’t even get me started on the bizarre vocals.

  • sad

@liz: hahahah you nailed it, hipsters think her lyrics are “so deep” when its literally baby talk. her voice is beyond blah, its the instrumentals that make her songs hits. i would never want to pay for a 2 hr show listening to that tiresome voice, nope. and they have to autotune the hell out of her to get through that cigarette smoking she keeps on doing in her gigs so she isn’t “brilliant” by any means, she’s just as much of a fluke as any pop stars that dress skimpy like rihanna or miley and just as much of a fluke as the majority of singers who lipsync like britney. call me a nerd but id rather listen to an orchestra with skilled musicians that know what the hell they’re doing than listen to lana. and lana is not pretty either like everybody makes her out to be, way too much cosmetic procedures shes done to her face with daddys money.

  • Teeter

I’m so sick of this girl, she shouldn’t give interviews ever. When will we be done with this Nancy Sinatra knockoff?

  • Louise

Time Magazine’s headline says it best:

Lana Del Rey’s Ultraviolence Is the Album We Need Right Now

with author Sasha Geffen’s byline, “The album presents an endlessly fascinating cornucopia . . .”

Lana’s music is what I need. Thank you!

  • Loca

Why oh why is she saying this stuff publicly? Don’t put out your music if you don’t want people to hear it! Just make it for yourself on your own computer and listen to it by yourself. Plus, she’s totally lying because she worked hard to make it – first as her own name and then in this made up persona so don’t pretend you didn’t want it.

  • Diedre

This young woman sounds like she needs some serious help. This isn’t the first time she’s referenced killing herself.
It would be awful if she was doing this just for the press, but even worse if she isn’t and she is genuinely crying out for help.

  • Heather

@Diedre: She never said she wanted to kill herself. She said she wished she was dead already, which is different but at the same time is human. My god, if you don’t like her cool don’t like her. But seriously stop ruining it for the rest of us who want to enjoy this once in a life time talent. Whether you like her style or not she’s truly something special. I love that she sings whatever she effing wants the way that she effing feels like singing it.

P.S. I loved her snl performance she sounded good all moody and deep, she looks beautiful (this b**** has perfect hair), and her awkward slow spins were endearing. And even more she’s a really big sweetheart just watch her interact with people.
