'Guardians of the Galaxy' Dominates Labor Day Box Office
Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy easily wins the Labor Day weekend box office with a three-day gross of $16.3 million and projected four-day earning of $21.2 million!
According to THR, the action flick starring Chris Pratt and Zoe Saldana, is now officially the top-grossing movie of 2014 with a $274.6 million total gross.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, starring Megan Fox and Will Arnett, came in second its fourth weekend, with an additional $11.8 million.
Taking the third spot was the new Chloe Moretz film If I Stay, which brought in $9.3 million in its second weekend.
Rounding out the top five were the buddy comedy Let’s Be Cops and the psychological thriller As Above, So Below, which earned $8.3 million and $8.2 million, respectively.
Meanwhile, Begin Again, starring Adam Levine and Keira Knightley, expanded to more theaters and impressed with an additional $1 million.
