Jessica Simpson Felt 'Empowered' By Criticism To Lose Her Baby Weight

Jessica Simpson goes all black early in the morning to make an appearance on the Today show on Wednesday (September 24) in New York City.

The 33-year-old entertainer changed to a cute black and white dress to do her interview, before later stepping out in a mismatched plaid ensemble.

“[Media criticisms] empowered me to rise above and stand up for all the women out there that do have trouble losing the weight,” Jessica said on the show about her new body. “It wasn’t really my priority to please the public and make them feel like I’m supposed to be looking like i did when I was 25.”

“I don’t think that I wasn’t still a sex symbol [with the weight]. To my husband, I was still extremely sexy,” Jess added. “I have feelings and hormones. I got emotional about it at times, but if anything I just kind of wanted to be a champion for other women and say, ‘We can do this.’ [It] just feel(s) more comfortable in my skin.”
