Taylor Swift Never Expected Loving Industry Reaction to Her Spotify Decision

Taylor Swift can’t control her emotions on the cover of The Hollywood Reporter‘s Rule Breakers 2014 issue, out on newsstands now!

In the issue, the 25-year-old entertainer discussed her decision to take her music off popular streaming service Spotify.

“I didn’t think that it would be shocking to anyone. With as many ways as artists are personalizing their musical distribution, it didn’t occur to me that this would be anything that anyone would talk about,” Taylor shared.

She added, “But I could never have expected so many text messages, emails and phone calls from other artists, writers and producers saying thank you.”

I get the need to “protect your work”, or whatever it is, but anytime I read stories like this, I can’t help but see it for what it is… the millionaires want every last penny they can get, even though the only people it hurts are the consumers who are spending their few hard-earned dollars on their music. Those poor millionaires. I wonder which one of her 5 mansions Taylor Swift goes to when she’s frustrated over the music industry cheating her out of so much money.

    Kelly right on point

  • lejla

It’s her work, she can do whatever she wants. I just hope she stands behind her actions and words in the future and doesn’t change her mind when it’s convenient.

Right on point the poor little millionare sitting in
her penthouse with Crazy Cats and no guy to make
her Happy so she takes it out on Spotify.
Her parents had plenty of money to give her to buy all the CD’s she wanted but many kids today
don’t have plenty of money for music that they want to listen to. She is just selfish GREED.
GREED IS THE WORD TO DISCRIBE THESE PEOPLE.

  • videorov

ITS nothing if the people don’t buy it!!!!!!!!
Just words on paper and thats it. More and more people
are getting pissed with these GREEDY people.

  • videorov

How many homes does she need, GREED GREED look at me is what she is becoming.

  • lejla

That’s what I’m saying. People are buying her album and it’s a great album if I’m being honest, but we’ll see if that’s the case with her future work.

Brag, brag….always bragging and praising herself. She is so self absorbed. She’s on top so it doesn’t really effect her, but what about all these artist that are trying to get their music heard in anyway possible that didn’t have all the breaks this girl has had.
I just wonder when they’ll be putting Taylor’s face on Mt. Rushmore???

  • videorov

Will see how long she last in the POP world. Not as long as the country world Im sure but she will find out the hard way.

oh thank you Taylor thank you your a goddess blah blah blah … Like I said big ego and I’m sure she’s great to her fans but I would be too if I wanted to sell a million records. It sucks I use to be a fan still like her music though.
