Aaron Sorkin Says Steve Jobs' Widow Told Leonardo DiCaprio & Christian Bale Not to Do the Movie
Michael Fassbender, Kate Winslet, Seth Rogen, and Jeff Daniels get serious for the lastest cover of The Hollywood Reporter.
Here’s what the Steve Jobs cast had to share with the mag:
Michael on playing Jobs: “I was nervous. I was very nervous. It was going to be a big challenge, the volume of words alone. I was like, ‘I don’t look anything like him.’ And Danny [Boyle] was like, ‘That’s not what we’re going for. I’m looking for someone who can capture an essence.’”
Kate on her role: “My makeup artist] said, ‘God, the script is really so fantastic.’ She described the nature of the film and how it’s constructed in three acts. And I finally said, ‘What’s the girl’s part?’”
Writer Aaron Sorkin on Steve’s widow Laurene Powell’s objections: “Since the very beginning, Laurene Jobs has been trying to kill this movie, OK? Laurene Jobs called Leo DiCaprio and said, ‘Don’t do it.’ Laurene Jobs called Christian Bale and said, ‘Don’t [do it].’”
