(Bringing over here my post from the previous thread…)

In relation to Drew Barrymore split from her 3rd husband….

Making or building a family should NOT only about giving interest or special time for kids BUT for the couple themselves as well…. to each other. I like how AJBP really value their ALONE time every now & then. As I understand, their favorite place for spending that special time is the hotel, anywhere in the world. They really demand it and very honest with their children. As BP said, “We find our time. We carve out Mommy, Daddy time… It’s called a hotel…..You got to get out of this house. You got to leave.” On having a good relationship with AJP, he replied, “Stay creative. Stay together.” BP loves to take pics of his family & of course his wife, “We have fun working together; these things bring you closer…And let me tell you, it’s really sexy to see your loved one through the lens. I went much further [than the shot of Jolie breast-feeding]. I didn’t show those.”……“There are no secrets at our house…We tell the kids, ‘Mom and Dad are going off to kiss.’ They go, ‘Eww, gross!’ But we demand it.” They find ways to nourish their relationship. He also said, “Mom and dad are creative….There are some dry spells. There are a few moments in the desert but mom and dad get very creative and we’re good. We have our ways.” He said, “Parenting can become hectic, but it also is great fun….In fact, it is the ultimate teamwork. But when all else fails, Mommy and Daddy need to hire a babysitter, go away and get dirty.”

AJBP see to it they have adventures together. The couple for instance enjoy racing each other on their motorbikes or riding their planes. AJP said, “Sometimes we’ll go on the track together and there you can go really fast and let your hair down….. “….”We push each other to be better, even if it’s just a better bike rider or better pilot. We ‘re constantly in competition.” …. “We have date night…You really do have to schedule the time.” She also said, “what makes me feel sexy is Brad. He always makes me feel sexy and desirable.” The couple even stayed intimate even during her pregnancies, a state AJP said was “…great for the sex life….It just makes you a lot more creative. So you have fun, and as a woman you’re just so round and full.” She also said, “I’m with a man who’s evolved enough to look at my body and see it as more beautiful, because of the journey it has taken and what it has created. He genuinely sees it that way. So I genuinely feel even sexier.” Another one she said and summed it all, ”The children certainly tie us together, but a relationship won’t hold if it’s only about the kids….You also must be really interested in each other and have a really, really wonderful, exciting time together…Brad and I love being together. We enjoy it. We need it, and we always find that special time. We stay connected. We talk about it. It’s very important. If Brad and I are strong and happy, then our kids have happy parents, and that’s the best thing we can give them.”

Of course, their priority is their kids BUT they never forget why they got together in the first place…. why they’re interested with each other. It is because they LOVE each other so much that they need to express that intimately as man & woman… as husband & wife. They need to satisfy & give each other pleasure. They always find time & ways. They both do it coz they love it.

Mickey To Battle Maleficent In Live Action ‘Fantasmic’!
Oh boy, oh boy, Mickey is starring in a movie! And he’s facing Angelina Jolie’s Maleficent! WHAT

In a VERY surprising and exciting announcement, Walt Disney Studios president Alan Horn told the company’s shareholders that they are developing an adaptation of the spectacular nighttime show Fantasmic! that can be seen in multiple Disney Parks. What this means is WE ARE GETTING A MICKEY MOUSE MOVIE.

Even though he’s the face of Disney and one of the most popular characters ever, Mickey has never starred in a feature theatrical movie. But that’s all about to change! Not only that but he’ll be facing Maleficent! And more Disney Villains! You see, Fantamic! centers on a journey through Mickey’s imagination as a team up of all the Disney Villains attack his spirit in a series of nightmares that have him face Jafar, the Evil Queen, Maleficent and more.

In the letter (you can see the relevant parts below) Horn says it was the technology used in The Jungle Book which gave them the idea of a Fantasmic! movie. And given the latest batch of photos released, we have to agree the animals look very impressive. If a CGI Mickey doesn’t appeal to you, you’ll be pleased to hear Horn also said the movie will be a mix of live action and both 3D and 2D animation and will be directed by Iron Man’s Jon Favreu.

Since Fantasmic! takes place in Mickey’s imagination I assume some segments will be traditionally animated, others will be brought to life in computers while the rest will probably feature a mix of animation and live action footage, which will allow for Angelina Jolie to face our beloved mouse. The letter also hints other villains will make an appearance and that the movie was inspired by the success of the Marvel Cinematic Universe so expect other actors from the upcoming live action remakes to reprise their roles too, forming a kind of Villain Avengers to defeat Mickey. This is insane.

I don’t know what else to say so here’s Alan Horn’s letter:

“We have a fantastic slate of movies heading our way in the upcoming years. We’ll be revisiting classic stories as beloved as “Beauty and the Beast”, “Dumbo” and, of course, “The Jungle Book”. It was the amazing technology used in this last one that made us think about a very, very exciting prospect: A Mickey Mouse feature movie.

Mickey is one of the most recognizable characters in the entire world and until now the world has been deprived of enjoying his charm and can-do attitude in the silver screen. But inspired by the enormous success of the Marvel Studios movies and their strategy we got a group of great filmmakers together to talk about our idea of a Mickey Mouse film. And talk just naturally went to “Fantasmic!”, which is a personal favorite of mine. The idea of seeing Mickey facing Maleficent and all of our iconic villains in a movie was intoxicating!

The movie will feature a mix of live action footage with 2D and 3D animation, taking advantage of the fantastic technologies available to us today. Jon Favreu will be the captain of this ship and with his experience directing fun and exciting blockbusters such as 2008’s “Iron Man” and this year’s “The Jungle Book” (which I just saw and fell in love with) we’re confident he’ll bring the project home in a spectacular way. So be prepared to root for our beloved Mickey when he faces a terrifying group of villains, lead by Angelina Jolie’s Maleficent, hellbent on breaking his spirit!”

The rest of the letter doesn’t reveal a release date but still, Mickey Mouse movie everyone! Plus, actors from all the other live-action remakes! I’m rooting for Emma Watson’s Belle and Mickey teaming up to defeat Maleficent.

    Brad Dynamo show
BRANGELINA are certainly making the most of their time in the UK. While ANGELINA JOLIE visited Sheffield, her husband BRAD PITT watched DYNAMO perform in London.

Hollywood actress Ange was dressed low key to ensure she didn’t upstage her pal JACK O’CONNELL, who she directed in 2014 war film Unbroken, as he starred in The Nap at Sheffield’s Crucible Theatre on Thursday.

However, she was back to her VIP self afterwards by jumping in a private helicopter at Tinsley Park Golf Course to head back to the capital.

I Only Had Twenty Minutes to Photograph NFL Star Chris Long in Tanzania
Roads allow us to travel to destinations far and wide. Sometimes, roads are dangerous and sometimes they are smooth. But, the moment you veer off the road into vast territory our senses spike on red alert. I knew we were traveling to a remote Masai village in Tanzania, but I wasn’t sure how remote. When our LandRover took a strong left into the unmarked African bush off the main road, my mind went into overdrive. The green mountainous landscape suddenly transformed into a desert-like tundra and a strong breath of wind began to shudder the truck. After an hour of treacherous trekking we arrived to the Masai village: a slew of bearish huts fabricated from dried cow-dung and branches surrounded by a perimeter of a thorn bushes. What seemed like hundreds of villagers draped in checked red-black flannel robes fighting the storm of dust, began to rush the trucks and greet the caravan.

In early 2015, I was approached by Nadus Films to head over to Tanzania, Africa to capture content and a short promotional documentary. The project: Waterboys Initiative, a non-profit foundation that contracts celebrities and athletes to fund water relief wells in rural villages all over the country of Tanzania. Waterboys Initiative was founded by Chris Long of the St. Louis Rams, along with Doug Pitt (Goodwill Ambassador Of Tanzania) and John Bongiorno (President, WorldServe). Our short film and photography was set to be pushed through the networks NFL and various other major contributors, including ESPN and the St. Louis Rams.

Upon arrival in the Masai village our first mission was to start shooting, shoot everything. Our focus was the interaction of Chris Long and Doug Pitt with the Masai villagers as well as the conditions and landscape of their home. Much of it was staged for the best shots, other times it was completely improvised. My job was to capture both behind-the-scenes as well journalistic coverage of the adventure, but this was also scheduled to be the day in which I had the opportunity to photograph Chris Long and Doug Pitt in a portrait setting with artificial lighting.

A couple hours passed and a breath of anxiety began to set in. We had to leave the village before sunset, as traveling at night was dangerous due to wildlife, theft and poor roads. As the sun began to lock into its low-position, the chance of nailing a portrait of these celebrities began to dwindle. We just wouldn’t have the time.

At that moment, I heard a faint voice shout, “You’re up.”

Looking to the sun, I only had a few minutes to nail the shots I had envisioned from the start. Instantly, I turned to a Maasi Warrior who happened to speak very broken english and asked him to be my assistant. His face lit up like a child and his shiny white teeth shined through his dark, scarred and rugged complexion. I handed him a 3 Legged Thing Boom Pole, the Profoto B2 Kit and a 46” Photek Softlighter. I threw my camera kit over my shoulder and we set off to the point of location I had scouted just an hour earlier.
I gave my Maasi assistant a fast five minute run down of his role in the most basic way possible. I directed him to hold the light in front of the subject toward the ground. I used more hand gestures and body language direction then words. Shockingly, he caught on very quickly. As a short test, we snapped a portrait of a woman loading water onto a donkey. She wasn’t happy, but luckily my Maasi assistant demanded that she cooperate. I still am not sure what he said to her.

At that moment, Chris Long and a crew of ten pushed through the thorn bush perimeter ready for the session. My instincts and intuition kicked into gear and I immediately directed Chris to a shady spot on high ground overlooking the village. I asked my assistant to direct a few of the villagers to stand and look busy in the background. I snapped two-three test shots and then we got to work. We photographed both Chris and Doug Pitt in various positions, poses and staging. All the time, I heard a few voices in the background persisting that we leave immediately. The sun was low, very low. I wasn’t happy and needed more options.

Despite the pressure, I directed Chris and Doug to one more location further down the hill towards the green, stagnant watering hole. We staged once again, I fired off just ten frames and then called it. Without a second thought, the crew hightailed it back to the trucks.

During our final farewell, I was able to sneak in a couple more portraits of the Maasi, including the village elder and a young warrior. The sun had practically set and without packing I threw my gear into the truck. I was the last the close the door and this entire period of time was under 20 minutes from start to finish.

I learned something about photography that day: no matter where you are in the world, most human beings do not like to step in front of the lens of a professional. And, when you shoot important people on a schedule, sometimes you may just have five or ten minutes to pull off a brilliant piece of work. As a professional photographer, it’s my job to make that process fun, easy and quick. Despite having been in thousands of promotional photographs and video interviews, Chris Long relied on my professionalism, intuition and eye. He trusted me to produce something special. It was a test- a test for the future and a learning experience that provided me skills to do it everyday.

Love the fact how much of an impression Angie has left on this lady Kristy Smith that she is still tweet/posting her interview with pride even after a year or so.

Exclusive Interview: Angelina Jolie on Maleficent, Motherhood, and Humanitarianism #MaleficentEvent
Imagine my excitement when I learned that I was going to be sitting in a room with Angelina Jolie and chatting with her about her role as Disney’s Maleficent. I have loved and admired Angelina since I can remember, and never imagined I would be blessed with such an incredible and unforgettable opportunity! During our time together, I got to really get to know Angelina as a person and fell in love with her all over again. She’s incredibly beautiful inside and out, and she has a big heart with lots of room for her children.

During the interview, as we started to talk more about motherhood and humanitarianism, I found myself starting to get choked up while listening to her responses. I realized just how much of a heart she has for her children and her humanitarianism efforts when she started to get a little emotional and choked up too.

I left the interview with a whole new love and respect for Angelina, and really feel like I got a chance to see her heart. I hope that as you get a chance to read the transcript from our time together, that you will too.

Angelina Jolie On Her Role As Maleficent

What brought you to this moment with a family Disney movie?

Angelina: “Well, I read the script and I was so moved by it, as a mother. I was also really moved by it because I thought of myself as a little girl, and I thought of all the kids I know. I just think of feeling, feeling different, feeling outside, and as a woman feeling abused, and this idea that if you’ve ever been abused, you put this wall up. You become darker, you’re not able to be this soft person that you were born to be. And then, what could possibly ever bring you back? The thing that brings Maleficent back is very much the thing that brought me back. So, I was very, very connected to it.”

How much of the Maleficent story did you know before you read the script?

Angelina: “I didn’t know anything about the script but I was fascinated by her. I didn’t really identify with the princesses when I was a little girl. But princesses have gotten a little more modern. It’s like a little kid seeing Marlene Dietrich for the first time. It was like seeing this elegant, powerful woman who seemed to be having a great time. So I was a bit fascinated by her. Then there was a rumor that the movie was going to be made, and I got a call from my brother. He was like, Ang, you’ve got to make a call to Disney, you got to try to get in on this. So, I was very happy when I got the call. So just the idea of a Disney movie, having children, and just being a big kid myself, and wanting to do a little bit of that was fun. But, I really didn’t know how could you possibly make a story where people have any connection to, or empathy for, somebody that curses a baby? It’s just, it’s going to be impossible. I think she did an extraordinary job.“

How did you find your voice that you use for this film?

Angelina: “My kids helped me find it. I was giving them baths, and I was doing this thing where a few nights in a row, I would tell them stories in the bath. I was trying out voices and a few they’d say, please stop. Then, sometimes, they’d listen and they’d kind of be more engaged. I kept trying and trying and trying. Then I did that voice and they couldn’t stop laughing. So, I kept doing it more and more. They still make me do it. I had to do it the other night for bedtime. So, for the look and everything, I would kind of run it by them. If it made them happy, or made them smile, or they were interested in it, you know, then I knew it was right.“

What was it like working with Vivienne (her daughter, who plays young Aurora) in the film?

Angelina: “It was a tough choice to do it, but I was scaring other kids with my costume. But it’s not frightening for children, just me in the costume. So I thought, what four or five year old little girl is not going to be scared of me in person. That my character can be really mean to and say things like, I don’t like children? We realized it was probably Vive. It took us a while to make sure that, that was an okay thing to do. The first day she had to catch the butterfly and she didn’t, you know- like any four year old, she just decided she didn’t want to. So there’s some really, really funny outtakes of Brad and I. I’ve actually got this stick with a blue ball, that’s supposed to be the butterfly and I’m kind of running in front of her. Then Brad’s off the edge of the cliff, kind of trying to like dance and make her jump into his arms. She made us work all for that. The people at Disney did say it was the funniest dailies that they’d ever seen. It exists somewhere, I haven’t seen them, I should get them. It was lovely to do it. I just wanted to play with her, and it was really fun.”

    Angelina Jolie On Motherhood

As a mom, humanitarian, entertainer how do you do it all?

Angelina: “Well I don’t, you know, I’m in a very lucky position. I have a supportive partner and he and I are able to take turns working often. When you make a film, it doesn’t take all year long. When I direct it does, but I get to decide when I leave in the morning and when I come home at night, and I can edit in my bedroom and would be there. So I have a very rare luxury with my job to be able to have my kids with me on set every day and homeschool. Other mothers have it much harder than I do, and don’t have the means to have the assistance I do.

I don’t feel like I, by any means, do anything exceptional. My mom was a single mom and she had a lot of difficulty and she gave up her dreams to make sure she could take me to my auditions and support me, and nobody acknowledged her for what she did, so that was hard. But, mine’s not too bad at all. I can’t complain.”

Have your children seen the movie yet?

Angelina: “They hadn’t, not the finished. They saw an early cut, which had a lot of really bad effects, and they were very sweet about it. They’re going to see it for the first time when its 3D. But they did see enough and they saw Vivienne’s scene and the other kids think it’s the funniest thing they’ve ever seen. Because she is at home my little shadow and I can never get her to like give me space. So it was very funny that no matter, even as a monster, I couldn’t quite get her away. So they think it’s funny.”

    Angelina Jolie on Humanitarianism

Can you talk about your humanitarian efforts? How can a regular mom start small in our own community and do good for others?

Angelina: “I think the most important thing we, as mothers, do is we raise our children with love and compassion to become great people and thoughtful of others. If everybody did just that, we’d have a very different world. And encourage our children’s education and help them to be conscious of the world around them. So, I think mothers have the most powerful role. There was even examples of Taliban fighters who stopped because their mothers stopped them, because the mothers became educated. They couldn’t stop the men, but they educate the mothers and the mothers got them back home. So the mother is a powerful thing. I think beyond that it is there is so much to connect to and there is so much that can be done. As you see now with the situation with the Nigerian girls, that’s not government, that’s the masses speaking out and pushing for government change. It sometimes doesn’t feel like every voice counts, but it really does.

There’s a conference in June I’d love you to be aware of that I’m doing, the Foreign Secretary of England, June 10-13, which is called PSBI, it’s the largest summit ever to end sexual violence in conflict. It’s open to the public, but it’s in England. We’ve realized that it’s not just governments, and it’s not just NGO’s, everybody has to come together. So NATO will be there, peace keepers will be there, governments will be there, and it’s open to the public, and NGO’s, and victims, and doctors will be there. So everybody together will spend four days. I think that’s what these things take, it takes all of us very tightly working together.”

Where to look for Angelina Jolie next

Will we see more family oriented movies now that you’ve gotten a taste of this?

Angelina: “Well Unbroken, is a heavier movie, but we’re aiming for PG-13. And I think it’s very important that it’s for young people, because there is so much out there that is just so aggressive, and there can be entertainment, I’m not against it. I did want to make Unbroken, because I wanted to do something that I felt was inspiring and that young people would be inspired by. My boys saw it for the first time the other day and I watched them sit through the whole film, and I watched their heads to see if they’d move. And they didn’t. They asked me so many interesting questions about faith, and life, and death, and war. And it’s very important now we can talk to our kids about real life issues, and real stories, and real film, about something that makes them walk away for it feeling like there’s a chance, and that the spirit inside of them can rise up against anything, and they can feel good about that, and no matter how they start, they can rise. That’s the message behind Unbroken. But for Disney characters, we’ll see, we’ll see if I get cast again. I did like my horns, so maybe I’ll get another shot at it.”

Hi Phool, I’m ok thank you. Can’t seem to shake out of this funk I’m in but that Chad meme just cracked me up. I hope you and your family are doing well, especially your brother.

    No plays recently.
This was a strange Winter, one large snow storm, then hot or freezing.
My allergies are starting up, so the rain washing away some of the pollen helps.
