Prince's Autopsy Complete, Cause of Death Still Unknown

Prince‘s autopsy has been completed, but a cause of death is still not known at this time.

The Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office in Minnesota conducted a four hour procedure to try and figure out why the legendary entertainer died at age 57. The autopsy began at 9am CDT on Friday morning (April 22) and his body will be returned to his family later today, according to TMZ.

It could be weeks until the results of the autopsy are released as the examiners are waiting for the toxicology results to come back.

Prince was found unresponsive in the elevator at his Paisley Park home on Thursday morning and pronounced dead after attempts to revive him went unsuccessful.
