Franco Columbu Dead - Bodybuilder & Actor Dies at 78

Franco Columbu has sadly passed away at the age of 78.

The champion bodybuilder, powerlifter, and World’s Strongest Man competitor tragically died following an incident at sea in his native Sardinia, Italy, multiple Italian news sites report.

Franco has also held the titles of Mr. Olympia and Mr. Universe, and he was a training partner to Arnold Schwarzenegger.

In addition, Franco was an author and actor, who worked with Arnold on The Terminator and did stunt work for other productions like Conan the Barbarian.

Actor Joe Manganiello tweeted with a photo, “RIP Franco Columbu … You were a friend and an inspiration.”
