Aaron Carter‘s twin sister Angel Carter spoke about the tragic death of her siblings.

If you don’t know, three of the Carter children – Leslie Carter, Aaron Carter, and Bobbie Jean Carter – have sadly passed away and each of their deaths involved drugs.

Leslie passed away in 2012 at the young age of 25 from an overdose. In 2022, Aaron tragically passed at the age of 34 from drowning after “inhalation of compressed gas and intake of alprazolam [generic Xanax.]” In 2023, Bobbie Jean died at the age of 41 from “intoxication by the combined effects of fentanyl and methamphetamine.”

If you don’t know, the fifth Carter sibling is Backstreet Boys’ Nick Carter.

While making an appearance on CBS Mornings on Tuesday (April 23), Angel was asked about their deaths.

Leslie Carter died of an apparent overdose after taking several prescription medications, ABC News reports.

The 25-year-old sister of Aaron and Nick Carter had “a long history of mental illness and was on medication for depression,” her stepmother, Ginger Carter, told authorities, according to an incident report.

Medication for schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and anxiety and panic disorder were found near Leslie, who died on Tuesday in upstate New York.

According to the report, on the morning of Janury 30, Leslie fell in the shower. Ginger helped her lie down but late in the afternoon, she found Leslie was not breathing. Leslie‘s father, Robert, tried to perform CPR, then her stepmother called 911.

The official cause of death will be determined after New York’s Chautauqua County coroner’s office receives toxicology reports in about four to six weeks, ABC News adds.

Aaron Carter is speaking out about the death of his older sister Leslie.

“I am with my family spending much needed time together as we deal with this private matter. I look forward to returning to my Fantasticks Family and performing the role of Matt for all my amazing fans. Again I request privacy for my family and no further statements will be made at this time,” the 24-year-old singer said in a statement to JustJared.com.

Aaron “would like to thank all his fans, friends and especially his cast and crew at the Fantasticks for their outpouring of love and support during this tragic time,” the statement from his rep added.

Older brother Nick also released a statement earlier in the day about Leslie, who passed away at the age of 25.

Nick Carter has opened up about the death of his younger sister, Leslie.

“Nick Carter is thankful to the many people and the fans who have shared their wishes and prayers during this tragic time. We want to let the fans know the tour will go on as promised,” a rep for the 32-year-old musician told JustJared.com.

“Performing is cathartic to me and I am dedicating the rest of my tour to my sister since she loved to watch me perform,” Nick said.

“We ask the press to respect Nick‘s privacy during his time of grief,” the statement concluded.

Leslie passed away at the age of 25.

The aspiring singer married her husband, Mike, in 2008 and gave birth to a daughter in April of 2011.

Leslie‘s single “Like Wow” was featured on the Shrek soundtrack and hit the Billboard Hot 100 back in 2001.

“Our family is grieving right now and it’s a private matter. We are deeply saddened for the loss of our beloved sister, daughter, and granddaughter, Leslie Carter,” the Carter family told Access Hollywood in a statement. “We request the utmost privacy during this difficult time.”
