Tom Hardy Explains His Psycho Characters

Tom Hardy sits down with UK Chatty Man Alan Carr on Monday (February 21) to talk about everything from his BAFTA win to his Inception co-star Leonardo DiCaprio being a great friend.

When the 33-year-old British actor was asked why he plays so many menacing characters in film, he answered, “It’s because I know what frightens me, do you know what I mean? I’m actually a big softie and that’s why I’m covered in tattoos. Everything is because I’m actually quite scared of everything. (laughs)

Tom continued, “The point being is that I’m naturally quite a fearful person. My job is just to observe and reflect people and mimic them. So what frightens me – I find scary – I portray in characters and that’s it.”
