Billy Ray Cyrus Apologizes for 'Explosive' Interview

Billy Ray Cyrus has apologized for making “explosive, and unintentionally so” statements in an interview with GQ magazine.

The 49-year-old entertainer and father of Miley Cyrus told People, “It is very important to me to work on mending my family right now.”

“My family is the most important thing I have, and we are working together to make sure our future is stronger and healthier,” Billy Ray continued. “It is all a learning process, and we thank everyone for their support and respect of our privacy as we sort through very important family issues.”

In the interview, Billy Ray said he was “scared” for Miley and that fame “destroyed [his] family.”
