Priyanka Chopra Hopes to Break Barriers with 'Mary Kom'

Priyanka Chopra looks incredibly glamorous while walking the carpet at the premiere of her movie Mary Kom held during the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival on Thursday (September 4) at the Elgin in Toronto, Canada.

The 32-year-old actress was joined by director Omung Kumar for the premiere and a press conference earlier in the day.

The film is a chronicle of the life of Indian boxer Mary Kom, who went through several hardships before audaciously accomplishing her ultimate dream.

“Female films in India sometimes don’t get as much as the boys do,” Priyanka said. “If [Mary Kom] ends up, you know, breaking those barriers, I think it’ll change a lot of things for female actresses. I’m hoping for that and we’ve done our best.”

FYI: Priyanka is wearing a Gauri Nainika gown at the premiere. She is wearing an alice + olivia dress and Dior shoes at the press conference.
