Glenn Frey Had Been Hospitalized Since November

Glenn Frey, legendary entertainer with the band the Eagles, had been hospitalized for illness since November, his good friend Bob Seger revealed.

The 67-year-old musician suffered from colitis most of his life, and had it under control. Things took a turn for the worse late last year due to his rheumatoid arthritis and other issues. He passed away this week from the complications.

“They were trying like hell to keep him alive. He’d been at Columbia Medical Center since November,” Bob told the Detroit Free Press.

“First he caught one set of pneumonia, then he caught a very virulent set of pneumonia,” Bob continued. “They were trying like hell to keep him alive. He’d been at Columbia University Medical Center since November. (Eagles manager) Irving (Azoff) pulled every ace out of the hole – he had the eight best specialists working on Glenn. About a month ago, they had to throw up their hands.”

“He would never fail to start with telling me how grateful he was that audiences were still there,” Bob added. “He loved the band. He loved the fact he could keep doing this. And he kept doing this until six months before he died.”
