Patty Duke Dead - Oscar Winning Actress Dies at 69

Oscar-winning actress Patty Duke has reportedly passed away at the age of 69.

News of the actress’ death was apparently reported by her son, actor Sean Astin, on a Fox affiliate.

Patty received an Academy Award for her work in The Miracle Worker at age 16, and went on to star as two cousins on The Patty Duke Show.

Patty was also an active mental health activist after being diagnosed with bipolar disorder in 1982. She dedicated years to increasing, promoting research, and taking away stigmas for sufferers.
