Richard Simmons Explains Hospitalization: I Was Dehydrated

Richard Simmons is opening up about his recent hospitalization on Friday (June 3) in Los Angeles.

The 67-year-old former fitness guru was apparently exhibiting some “bizarre behavior” which caused some alarm, but Richard now tells TMZ that it was from dehydration.

“Thank you to everyone who has reached out with love and concern after hearing I was in the hospital. I was dehydrated and needed some fluids and now I am feeling great!” Richard said in a statement. “Summer is here – drink plenty of liquids. Big hugs and kisses for caring.”

Richard has not been seen in public since 2013, and back in March, his friends exhibited some concern. However, Richard‘s rep assured fans he was fine.
