'Suicide Squad' Boasts Biggest August Box Office Opening Ever With $135.1 Million Debut!
DC’s star-studded new flick Suicide Squad debuted at No. 1 at the box office with a whopping $135.1 million gross!
According to THR, the movie, starring Will Smith, Jared Leto, Margot Robbie, Cara Delevingne, and more – is officially the biggest opening ever for August. Overseas, it raked in $132 million.
Coming in second was Matt Damon‘s Jason Bourne, which earned an additional $22.7 million for a domestic total of $103.4 million.
Taking in third place was Bad Moms, starring Mila Kunis, Kristen Bell, and Christina Applegate, which made an additional $14.2 million for a domestic total of $51.1 million.
Rounding out the top five were The Secret Life of Pets and Star Trek Beyond, which brought in $11.6 million and $10.3 million, respectively.
Meanwhile, Jennifer Garner and Kevin Spacey‘s new movie Nine Lives opened at No. 6 with $6.5 million from 3,264 theaters.
