Tom Hanks' 'Sully' Wins Weekend Box Office With $35.5 Million
Tom Hanks‘ brand new flick Sully soared to the top box office spot with a $35.5 million debut!
According to THR, the Clint Eastwood-directed movie about the 2009 “Miracle on the Hudson” plane landing brought in $9.5 million overseas so far.
Coming in second place was the new thriller When the Bough Breaks, starring Morris Chestnut and Regina Hall, which opened to $15 million.
Taking the No. 3 spot was Don’t Breathe, starring Jane Levy and Dylan Minnette, earning an additional $8.2 million for a domestic total of $66.8 million.
Rounding out the top five were Suicide Squad and the French animated movie The Wild Life, which brought in $5.7 million and $3.3 million, respectively.
Meanwhile, Kate Beckinsale‘s new horror movie The Disappointments Room made $1.4 million.
Michael Fassbender and Alicia Vikander‘s film The Light Between Oceans earned an additional $1.8 million in its second weekend for a total $9.4 million.
