Felicity Jones Says That 'Rogue One' Having A Female Lead 'Shouldn't Be Such A Big Deal'
Felicity Jones couldn’t be more excited to be the lead in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, but she doesn’t think it’s necessary to emphasize that she’s a “female lead.”
“People keep saying how amazing it is having a female lead and I just sort of feel, well, of course!,” the 33-year-old actress told the Metro. “It shouldn’t be such a big deal. We are half the population.”

“Obviously we have a female lead but I didn’t want to view it that way because the typical thing to do is to go overly into a badass stereotype of a tough woman that no one relates to,” director Gareth Edwards added.
