Sara Bareilles & Bette Midler Are Breaking Broadway Records!

It looks like women are ruling Broadway right now and Sara Bareilles and Bette Midler have broken records during the first days of their runs on the Great White Way!

Sara joined the cast of the musical Waitress, the show she wrote the music for, on Friday (March 31) and played four shows this weekend. All four shows were sold out and Saturday night’s performance brought in $180,000, the most amount of money that has ever been grossed for a single performance at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre, according to Deadline.

Bette just started previews in the revival of the classic musical Hello, Dolly! and she played seven performances this past week, bringing in a gross of $1.96 million. This is the highest grossing week ever for the Shubert Theatre, and the show reached this milestone with only seven performances. Matilda, which held the previous Shubert record of $1.9 million, achieved the feat with nine performances. The standard Broadway week includes eight shows.

Make sure to get your tickets now to see Waitress and Hello, Dolly! before they’re not available any longer!
