Shailene Woodley Gets Honored for Her Activism: 'All We're Fighting for is Love'
Shailene Woodley received a big – and well-deserved – honor last night.
The 25-year-old Big Little Lies actress and environmental activist attended the Sierra Club’s 125th Anniversary Trail Blazers Ball at the Palace of Fine Arts on Thursday (May 18) in San Francisco, Calif.
The fundraising gala was held to celebrate the Sierra Club’s work protecting the planet, serving as the nation’s largest and most influential grassroots environmental organization.
Also in attendance were Thomas Middleditch (HBO’s Silicon Valley) and Oscar-nominated director Darren Aronofsky.
Honoree Shailene took the stage and told the crowd, “All we’re fighting for is love. Every human being wants to experience love and wants to give love. We’ve gotten lost along the way. … Remember why we care about this planet and remember why we care about each other.”
As you probably know, Shailene has been an outspoken opponent of the Dakota Access Pipeline, helping to fight back against the oil pipeline that threatens many people’s drinking water, culture, and livelihood.
