Cate Blanchett's Lucille Ball Biopic Moves Forward, Javier Bardem 'In the Mix' for Desi Arnaz

Cate Blanchett‘s Lucille Ball biopic has landed at Amazon!

The project is an authorized biopic and will be produced by Lucille and Desi Arnaz‘s kids. The movie will focus on the legendary comedic star, who starred in I Love Lucy, The Lucy�”Desi Comedy Hour, The Lucy Show, Here’s Lucy and Life with Lucy. Aaron Sorkin will write the script.

Lucy earned four Emmys over the course of her career, and was married to Desi from 1940 to 1960.

Deadline is reporting that the search is on to find a big named star to play Desi – with Javier Bardem‘s name in the mix! Producers are also searching for the perfect Fred and Ethel, the beloved characters from I Love Lucy.
