Joey Chestnut Downs 74 Hot Dogs, Wins Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest 2018!

Joey Chestnut has won this year’s Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest!

After consuming a record-breaking 74 hot dogs, the 34-year-old competitive eater took home his 11th Nathan’s title and the $10,000 prize on Wednesday (July 4) in the Coney Island neighborhood of the Brooklyn borough of New York City.

Joey‘s total originally came in at 64, until it was found that a counter had missed a whole plate, bringing his total up by 10, CBS Sports reports.

Last year, Joey set the record at 72 hot dogs in 10 minutes.

Carmen Cincotti came in second place this year with 45 hot dogs and buns. In the women’s competition, Miki Sudo took home her fifth straight title by eating 37 hot dogs in 10 minutes.
