Emma Thompson Asked Prince William for a Kiss at Her Investiture Ceremony!

Emma Thompson is officially a Dame!

The actress was appointed a Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire (DBE) at an investiture ceremony at Buckingham Palace on Wednesday (November 7) in London, England. She posed alongside her husband Greg Wise outside of the palace to commemorate the occasion.

During the ceremony, Emma admitted she wanted to kiss Prince William but he was against it.

“I love Prince William. I’ve known him since he was little, and we just sniggered at each other. I said, ‘I can’t kiss you, can I?’ And he said, ‘No don’t!’” she recalled (via E! News).

“If you’re first up, you have to be more formal on such an occasion…but he’s looking wonderful and doing so well. He said, ‘This day isn’t about me, it’s about you,’” she added.
