Will Smith Clarifies His Genie in 'Aladdin' Will Be Blue After First Images Revealed

Will Smith‘s first look at the Genie in Aladdin was revealed for the first time today via Entertainment Weekly, and fans did notice something different about his Genie vs. the Genie from the 1992 animated film.

Fans were wondering if the live action Genie would be blue at all, because the original Genie was entirely blue in the early animated version. Will revealed that yes, his character will be blue and this Genie revealed today is the human/disguise form.

“BAM!! First look at the Genie 🧞‍♂️, Princess Jasmine, and Aladdin! Check Me Rockin’ the Top Knot Ponytail Vibes in Entertainment Weekly 😆 (and yes, I’m gonna be BLUE! 🙂 This is how the Genie is in Human / Disguise Form. My character will be CGI most of the movie.)” Will wrote on his Facebook.

The movie will hit theaters on May 24, 2019.
