Bradley Cooper Says He Was 'Embarrassed' By Oscars Director Snub
Bradley Cooper opens up to Oprah Winfrey during a Q&A at Oprah’s SuperSoul Conversations on Tuesday (February 5) at the PlayStation Theater in New York City.
The 44-year-old actor and filmmaker opened up about being snubbed from the Best Director category at the 2019 Oscars for his work on A Star Is Born.
“I was embarrassed. I was at a coffee shop in New York City and looked down at my phone and Nicole [Caruso, his publicist] has told me congratulations and said what we had been nominated for,” Bradley said (via People). “They didn’t even give me the bad news.”
“I was embarrassed because I felt I hadn’t done my job,” he added.
A Star Is Born received eight Academy Award nominations and Bradley has three noms himself – Best Actor, Best Adapted Screenplay, and Best Picture.
