Jay-Z Pulls Out of Woodstock 50 Performance (Report)

Jay-Z has pulled out of Woodstock 50.

The 49-year-old “Empire State Of Mind” rapper will no longer take part in the festival, Variety reports.

He was scheduled to wrap up the revival of the 1969 concert, which is set for August 16-18.

The day before, musician John Fogerty also pulled out from the event due to a recent venue change.

Festival organizer Michael Lang is reportedly in talks to move Woodstock 50 to Merriweather Post Pavilion, near Washington D.C. and Baltimore, following other “financial and organizational” issues. The concert was originally going to occur at Watkins Glen International Speedway in upstate New York.

“The bands won’t do it,” an insider shared. “They were contracted to play a show in Watkins Glen.” A second source added that a lot of the main artists have already been paid and are just waiting until the event gets canceled.

Tickets have not gone on sale yet.

Listen to Jay-Z‘s new song with his wife Beyonce and her The Lion King co-star Childish Gambino, “MOOD 4 EVA,” if you haven’t yet.
