Charli XCX Gives Her Very Honest Answer About How She Felt Opening for Taylor Swift

Charli XCX is on the cover of Pitchfork‘s Digital Issue, where she spoke about her time opening for Taylor Swift‘s 2018 Reputation tour.

If you don’t know, Taylor asked Charli XCX and Camila Cabello to both open for her massive tour.

Charli then told the magazine about the experience, “I’m really grateful that [Taylor] asked me on that tour. But as an artist, it kind of felt like I was getting up on stage and waving to 5-year-olds.”

In fact, it seems as if Charli is totally done opening for anyone again.

“I’ve done so much of it, and it really cemented my status as this underdog character, which I like now,” she added. “But I need to just own my own f*cking sh*t finally.”
