Prince Harry Breaks Silence on Controversy Over Flying Private with Meghan Markle & Baby Archie
Prince Harry, a huge environmental activist, is breaking his silence on the backlash he faced over flying in a private jet for two vacations this summer with his wife, Duchess Meghan Markle, and their son Archie.
During a question and answer session at announce his new travel initiative, Travalyst, on Tuesday (September 3) in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, he was asked about the controversy.
“We can all do better and while no one is perfect, we all have a responsibility for our own individual impact,” Prince Harry responded. “The question is what we do to balance it out.”
“I came here by commercial,” he added later. “I spend 99% of my life traveling the world by commercial. Occasionally there needs to be an opportunity based on a unique circumstance to ensure my family are safe and it’s genuinely as simple as that. But as I said in my speech, for me it’s about balance.”
According to Sussex Royal, Travelyst “aims to make travel more sustainable, to help protect destinations and benefit communities long into the future, and to enable consumers to make more environmental friendly choices whilst traveling.”
