Katie Holmes is all smiles as she struts her way out of her apartment building on Wednesday afternoon (September 4) in New York City.

The 40-year-old actress looked chic in a black blazer over a black dress and heeled-booties as she headed to a New York Fashion Week kick-off party hosted by Zimmermann.

The day before, Katie sported a trench coat as she ran a few errands around town.
