Shia LaBeouf Thanks Police Officer Who Arrested Him Back in 2017

Shia LaBeouf is thanking a police officer for changing his life.

The 33-year-old actor gave the special shout out while accepting an award for his film Honey Boy at the Hollywood Film Awards on Sunday night (November 3) in Beverly Hills, Calif.

During his acceptance speech, he mentioned the officer who arrested him for public drunkenness in Georgia back in 2017.

“I want to thank the police officer who arrested me in Georgia for changing my life,” Shia said on stage.

The arrest came after Shia went on a on a racist and expletive-laced rant against the police officers. He later called the event “mortifying” and is now sober.

Shia also added thanks to “my therapist and my sponsor for saving my life” as well as his parent for “for giving me life.”
