Joaquin Phoenix Attends Screening of 'The Animal People' at Santa Monica Film Festival 2019

Joaquin Phoenix flashes a smile as he hits the red carpet at the premiere of The Animal People on Saturday night (November 30) at the AMC Broadway 4 in Santa Monica, Calif.

The 45-year-old Joker actor serves as executive producer on the documentary, which was held during closing night of the 2019 Santa Monica International Film Festival.

The Animal People “tells the story of six advocates determined to expose the world’s largest animal-testing lab—and an industry just as determined to stop them,” according to Peta.
