Kobe Bryant Will Be Remembered at Oscars 2020 Ceremony With Tribute

Kobe Bryant will be remembered at the upcoming 2020 Oscars.

THR reports that the late basketball star, who died in a helicopter crash over the weekend, will be honored at the ceremony with a tribute.

Kobe won an Oscar for his short film, Dear Basketball, in 2018 with Glen Keane.

The Academy paid tribute to Kobe in an Instagram post after news was released of his untimely passing.

“They doubted a kid could make it in the NBA and he proved them wrong. They doubted he could win a championship and he proved them wrong. They doubted he could make movies and he won an Oscar,” the account wrote. “Like all great artists, Kobe Bryant proved the doubters wrong. Rest in peace.”

The 2020 Oscars will take place on Sunday, February 9.
