This Surprising Person Reached Out to Matt James After His 'Bachelor' Announcement!

Matt James is ready for his shot at love!

During the latest episode of The Bachelor: The Greatest Seasons – Ever!, Matt, 28, opened up about being making history as the first ever Black Bachelor.

“I’ve heard from a lot of my Black friends that aren’t Bachelor Nation faithful that are excited about me and honored by the position I’m in,” Matt shared before mentioning that this is the first time Black people and other persons of color will be able to witness “diverse relationships” on the hit ABC series.

“I couldn’t be more excited about that,” Matt shared.

Matt also joked that after the announcement was made, all sorts of people from his past have been coming out of the woodwork to congratulate him – including his third grade teacher!

“I hadn’t heard from her since I missed my book report,” Matt joked. “So, there’s people coming from all over the place to share their excitement. And it’s been nice.”

Season 25 of The Bachelor is scheduled to premiere in 2021.
