Quentin Tarantino's Mom Responds To His Vow To Never Give Her Any Money

Quentin Tarantino‘s mom, Connie Zastoupil, is speaking out, after an interview he gave about how he hasn’t shared any of his wealth with her went viral.

In the interview, the 48-year-old filmmaker reveled that he made a vow never to give her a cent when she criticized his writing career when he was just a teen.

My mom always had a hard time about my scholastic non-ability…[she] was bitching at me about [writing screenplays]… and then in the middle of her little tirade, she said, ‘Oh, and by the way, this little ‘writing career,’ with the finger quotes and everything. This little ‘writing career’ that you’re doing? That s— is over,’” he shared.

Quentin added, “When she said that to me in that sarcastic way, I go, ‘Okay lady, when I become a successful writer, you will never see one penny one from my success. There will be no house for you. There’s no vacation for you, no Elvis Cadillac for mommy. You get nothing. Because you said that.’”

Now, Connie is speaking out about the interview.

In a statement to USA Today, Connie shared her thoughts on Quentin‘s interview.

“Regarding my son Quentin – I support him, I’m proud of him and love him and his growing new family,” she said. “It gave me great joy to dance at his wedding and receive his news upon the birth of my grandson Leo.”

Connie‘s statement also shared that it’s easy for comments on a podcast to “spin and go viral without full context,” adding that she does “not wish to participate in this salacious transactional media frenzy.”
