Dolly Parton Thinks She Gets More Credit Than She Deserves For Funding Moderna's COVID-19 Vaccine

Dolly Parton is opening up about contributing to production of the Moderna vaccine for COVID-19.

In a new interview with Absolute Radio, the 75-year-old iconic singer shared that she was “led to do something because I knew something bad was on the rise…and I just wanted to kind of help with that, so I donated to help with that.”

Dolly pledged a $1 million donation to Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville towards COVID-19 research and support, which in turn helped the pharmaceutical company to develop the vaccine.

She later received the same vaccine.

“I probably get a lot more credit than I deserve,” Dolly admitted. “I was happy to be part of that and to be able to try to stop something in its tracks that’s really become such a monster for all of us.”

She added, “I was happy to do that. My heart just kind of leads me into where I’m supposed to go and what I’m supposed to do at the time.”
