Jessica Biel is joining the cast of Candy.

According to Deadline, the 39-year-old actress is set to star as Candy Montgomery, who murdered her church friend with an ax, in Hulu‘s upcoming true crime drama series.

Elisabeth Moss was originally slated to appear in the lead role, but dropped out.

The outlet writes that the actress left the show due to scheduling issues.

Here’s a summary of the series: “Candy Montgomery seemingly had it all – a loving husband with a good job, a daughter and a son, a nice house in the brand new suburbs – so why did she kill her friend from church with an ax?”
