Amber Heard Under Investigation for Perjury in 2015 Dog Smuggling Case (Report)

Amber Heard is reportedly under investigation.

The Daily Mail claims that the 35-year-old Aquaman actress is being investigated by Australia’s Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment.

According to the outlet, the department has opened a criminal probe which the FBI is gathering witnesses in the United States for. The report alleges that she “lied to Australian officials after smuggling her dogs into the country in 2015.”

Amber was charged with two counts of illegally important the Yorkshire Terrier dogs and one count of producing an unspecified false document. She ultimately plead guilty in the case and apologized.

New details of the flight have emerged in the wake of 2020′s libel trial, where Amber‘s ex-husband Johnny Depp sued The Sun for branding him as a “wife beater” for allegedly attacking Amber during their marriage.

Johnny‘s former estate manager Kevin Murphy alleged in court that “Heard had ordered him to lie on oath after she flew the pets into Queensland in a private jet without declaring them,” per The Daily Mail.

Kevin has also reportedly supplied emails that could impact Amber.

“I also explained to Ms. Heard several times the fact that trying to take the dogs into Australia without completing the mandatory process was illegal and could result in very harsh penalties including euthanizing the dogs,” he alleged during the 2020 trial.

He continued, “When I expressed that I was extremely uncomfortable with this, Ms. Heard said to me ‘Well I want your help on this… I wouldn’t want you to have a problem with your job.’ It became very apparent that Ms. Heard was threatening my job stability unless I cooperated with providing a declaration that supported her false account for the Australian proceedings.”

The Daily Mail writes that Kevin confirmed he had been contacted by the FBI and agreed to provide Australian authorities with a witness statement.

Earlier this summer, it was reported that Johnny Depp had been granted permission to proceed with a $50 million defamation lawsuit against Amber.
