Ethan Hawke to Join Julia Roberts & Mahershala Ali in Netflix Thriller 'Leave the World Behind'

There have been some new additions to the cast of Netflix’s upcoming thriller, Leave the World Behind.

According to Deadline, Ethan Hawke is set join Julia Roberts and Mahershala Ali in the film, which is based on Rumann Alam‘s novel of the same name.

Industry star Myha’la Herrold, Ryan Kiera Armstrong and Charlie Evans have also boarded the project.

Here’s a synopsis: “Leave the World Behind is a story about two families, strangers to each other, who are forced together on a long weekend gone terribly wrong.”

Ethan will play Julia‘s husband, with Ryan and Charlie playing their children. Myha’la will play Mahershala‘s daughter.

Mr. Robot director Sam Esmail is on board to direct and adapt the novel.

It was previously announced that Julia would be reuniting with one of her famous co-stars on the film, but the actor was ultimately replaced by Mahershala.
