Harry Styles Reveals Why He Used to Feel 'So Ashamed' About His Sex Life

Harry Styles is talking a bit about his sex life and what it was like being in One Direction while dating.

“For a long time, it felt like the only thing that was mine was my sex life,” he told Better Homes & Gardens. “I felt so ashamed about it, ashamed at the idea of people even knowing that I was having sex, let alone who with.”

As a boy band member, he revealed he felt pressure to not be overtly sexual, especially given the “cleanliness clauses” in the contacts he used to sign. The contracts could become null & void if he did anything or said anything considered unsavory.

“At the time, there were still the kiss-and-tell things. Working out who I could trust was stressful,” he added. “But I think I got to a place where I was like, why do I feel ashamed? I’m a 26-year-old man who’s single; it’s like, yes, I have sex.”

On signing his first solo contract, Harry said, “I felt free.”
