Faith Hill Says She Almost Quit Acting For Good After 'Stepford Wives'

During an appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show, Faith told Kelly that her music career and raising a family was what was really keeping her from doing movies — but that her experience filming The Stepford Wives didn’t help.

“My career took off, no time, had babies, and I had done a couple of things,” she recalled. “I did Stepford Wives with an amazing cast. But it wasn’t the best experience, so I said I will never ever, ever, ever, ever do another one, a movie.”

Faith then revealed that it was how long the shoot was that turned her away from movies at that time.

“I cannot,” she added. “I have to be busy, doing stuff. Then I did an independent thing called Dixieland [in 2017]. I read a lot of scripts over the years but nothing hit me or the timing wasn’t right.”

But then, Taylor Sheridan’s 1883 came along, and things changed for her again.

“The script was so well-written,” Faith said. “I had honestly never read anything like that. So we made the decision to do it.”
