Toni Collette is clarifying details about her split from husband Dave Galafassi after previously releasing a statement to announce their breakup.

The 50-year-old Oscar-nominated actress announced her split from Dave on Wednesday (December 7), the same day that photos emerged of him kissing another woman.

“It is with grace and gratitude that we announce we are divorcing. We’re united in our decision and part with continuing respect and care for each other. Our kids are of paramount importance to us and we will continue to thrive as a family, albeit a different shape. We’re thankful for the space and love you grant us as we evolve and move through this transition peacefully. Big thanks,” the former couple said in their joint statement.

The beginning of the statement now reads, “After a substantial period of separation, it is with grace and gratitude that we announce we are divorcing.”

Toni and Dave are making it clear that they had already been separated before he entered a new relationship.
