Broadway Star Jessica Vosk Emulates Judy Garland in New Photo Shoot Ahead of Carnegie Hall Concert Celebrating the Iconic Singer (Exclusive)

Broadway star Jessica Vosk is making her return to Carnegie Hall to star in Get Happy: A Judy Garland Centennial Celebration!

The former Wicked and Fiddler on the Roof star will be paying tribute to the iconic Judy Garland TONIGHT (December 12), one year after she blew the roof off the venue during her debut Carnegie Hall concert in November 2021.

Jessica will bring Judy‘s songbook back to life, accompanied by an orchestra alongside rare performance footage of the late entertainer. She will be wearing original looks designed by Zac Posen during the concert.

“Judy is one of those magical unicorn icons that we will only ever see once in a lifetime. She is the reason that I am able to continue pushing boundaries and kicking down doors right now in my career. Without women like her paving the way, I venture to guess that many of us wouldn’t be where we are. I’m excited to sing a few of the songs from her actual 1961 Carnegie Hall, live show, one of which being the incredible ‘Come Rain, or Come Shine,’” Jessica told us about her show.

“This shoot was unique in that we were wanting to pay homage to Judy while also bringing forward Jessica’s style and personality,” Greg told us about the shoot. ”Every detail of the styling is rooted in the idea of what was and executed with what is. Style and Trends are cyclical – when I think back to Judy in Summer Stock, rocking that amazing black blazer with tights and heels I see parallels to fashion today. Just recently, Bottega Veneta featured models walking the runway in a ‘no pants’ trend, donning a pair of black opaque tights as the bottom cover up. Today, and currently in this season, sequins are trending. I think back to Judy’s iconic Poppy Dress and reimagine it today – modern, simplistic, and rich in color. It’s always about the cut and how it hugs and shapes on a body. Judy Garland was a style icon.”

He added, “Getting to fuse the essence of Judy’s style and everything that is Jessica Vosk has been a thrill. Working with Jessica is always a rewarding and fulfilling experience because she is not afraid to play. We definitely did that here.”

We asked Jessica what her favorite Judy look is and she said, “I think her ‘Get Happy’ look was ahead of its time. Fabulous tuxedo jacket, fedora, Boss Lady vibes.”
