Regina King Shares Heartfelt Tribute to Late Son Ian Alexander, Jr. in First Post Since His Passing

Regina King has returned to social media.

Late Thursday night (January 19), the 52-year-old Oscar winner took to Instagram to share her first post since her son Ian Alexander, Jr. passed away in January 2022.

On Instagram, Regina honored Ian‘s “worthday” on what would have been his 27th birthday.

“January 19th is Ian’s Worthday. As we still process his physical absence, we celebrate his presence. We are all in different places on the planet…so is Ian,” Regina wrote along with a video of lantern floating through the sky.

“His spirit is the thread that connects us,” Regina continued. “Of course orange is your favorite color…Its the fire and the calm. I see you in everything I breath. My absolute favorite thing about myself is being ….Regina the mother of Ian the GodKing. Continue to shine bright,my guiding light. 🧡🧡🧡”

Ian passed away last January, just days after his 26th birthday.

Regina shared Ian with her ex-husband, Ian Alexander, Sr., a record producer.
