Ethan Hawke's 'Wildcat' Movie Rounds Out Cast With Maya Hawke, Laura Linney & More

Ethan Hawke has stacked the cast for his upcoming movie, Wildcat!

The 52-year-old actor/director has recruited his daughter, Maya Hawke, for the lead role, as well as Oscar nominated actress Laura Linney, Cooper Hoffman and so many more.

In addition to Maya, Laura and Cooper, the cast of Wildcat will also include Philip Ettinger, Blindspotting‘s Rafael Casal, The White Lotus‘s Steve Zahn, Reacher‘s Willa Fitzgerald, Alessandro Nivola, and Vincent D’Onofrio, according to Variety.

The movie will center on author Flannery O’Connor, and her struggles to publish her first novel.

A devout Catholic from Georgia, the novelist was invited to the prestigious Iowa Writers’ Workshop, and became famous for her offbeat short fiction about the American South and her faith. She then was diagnosed and battled lupus for much of her life, before dying from the disease at 39.

“Maya has been working hard for years to put this project together, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to introduce a new generation of filmgoers to the genius of Flannery O’Connor,” Ethan shared in a statement. “Her work explores themes important to all artists — the intersection of creativity and faith, the blurred relationship between imagination and reality.”

This isn’t the first time that Maya and Ethan have worked together. They previously teamed up for Revolver.
