Penn Badgley Reveals How His 'You' Character Joe Would Feel About Taylor Swift After Viral 'Anti-Hero' TikTok

You star Penn Badgley might have used Taylor Swift‘s “Anti-Hero” to introduce himself to TikTok. However, he thinks his character Joe might not be as big a fan of the pop phenom.

The 36-year-old actor revealed that he is set to direct an episode of the Netflix series, which will contain a reference to the “Shake it Off” hitmaker.

He weighed in on what his character would think about Taylor in a recent interview.

Penn told Variety that Joe and Taylor likely would not get a long. In fact, he was even more direct in his description.

“I think, unfortunately, he would despise her,” he decided. “Because she’s successful and blond, maybe? I don’t know, but I think he would.”

The episode Penn directed is called She’s Not There and is the second-to-last for the show’s fourth season. Find out when the episode will premiere.
