The highly anticipated sixth installment in the much beloved slasher film franchise arrives in theaters on Friday (March 10), and plenty of fans and critics have already been catching early previews and screenings ahead of its official theater launch.

The entire creative team of Scream 5 returned, including directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, with James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick co-writing the screenplay. And while many of the stars of the fifth movie returned, including Melissa Barrera, Jenna Ortega and Courteney Cox, one very noticeably is not back.

The movie currently commands an 75% Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with dozens of critic reviews.

The Daily Telegraph gave it 3 out of 5 stars, writing: “A generally-clapped-out franchise is capable of some fairly fun death throes.”

Collider gave it a B+, writing: “Scream VI might be a sequel to a requel, but this franchise still finds new ways to feel original in its approach to this world.”
