Javier Bardem Addresses King Triton Role & Not Being Shirtless in 'The Little Mermaid' Live-Action Movie

Javier Bardem is opening up about The Little Mermaid, and his role as King Triton in the live-action movie.

The 54-year-old actor got candid about taking on the role, and his relief about not needing to be shirtless, like the character is portrayed in the animated film.

“I’m not Dwayne Johnson. I’m not Brad Pitt,” he told EW.

Instead of being shirtless, King Triton wears armor.

“It was like [being] at Disney Parks in the rides. You have to be in shape because those arms have to be there. And most importantly, you have to have a strong core. You really have to do some gymnastics,” he recalled of filming the movie.
