Speaking to ET, Greg explained that he was surprised to learn Tom didn’t have stunt doubles on set.

“So, I’m in the car with Shea Whigham. I’m in the passenger [seat]. I thought there was going to be a stunt driver, but Tom does not hire stunt people for some reason. I don’t know. So we do everything ourselves,” he recalled.

He continued, describing the scene: “So, Shea is driving and there’s like these two cameras mounted on the front of the hood and then there’s a camera mounted on the side of the window. I’m sitting there and I’m like, ‘OK, we’re about to drive,’ you know, waiting for the stunt man. He’s like, ‘All right, we’re about to start driving.’ And I’m like, ‘Why are you? Why are you? Why are you? No. No. No. No. You’re Shea. No. You’re not good at … No, I wouldn’t drive with you on a regular day, so why we doing it in the streets of Rome with people and cars and everything?!’”

While that revelation surprised him, Greg shared a more meaningful lesson he learned from their collaborations.

“Accepting that anything that happens to me is the result of what I have done,” he explained. “Whether it’s good or bad, I need to accept responsibility for it. If it’s good, learn how to keep going. If it’s bad, learn from it and do better.”

Speaking of stunts, Tom recently revealed why he filmed one of his biggest Mission: Impossible stunts on the very first day on set.

Tom also responded to an actress requesting to work with him.
